Can anyone explain the way to remove a MR2 engine, do I have to remove the
subframe ?.Is there any thing else I should be aware of

Easy way is to drop it out the bottom. You can remove wiring harness with
engine. Drain fluids, remove exhaust pipe and speedo cable, shifter linkage,
gas linkage, fuel lines, axles are usally botled togather with six bolts
(depends on year) at the trans side. It is easier to move axles out of the
way by removing axle nut at hub (big nut) and slide them out once 6 bolts
and nut is removed. By the way this is removing both trans and motor
togather (easier to pull them at the same time. Remove front rear mounts (
front and rear of car, not motor). Last pull side mounts, (trans and motor).
Dont remember all but it isnt bad, just watch for things connected as your
pull it.

One other thing, if axles are out do not roll car around, it can seperate
bearing in hub.
